What we're for

EST. SOFIA
NGO · REG. BULGARIA
"Sapere aude" — dare to know. We borrowed the Enlightenment's oldest instruction and gave it to Bulgarian youth.

Sapere Aude Bulgaria is a small, youth-run non-profit based in Sofia. We build non-formal education around the questions Bulgarian classrooms rarely ask out loud: who benefits when a crowd stops thinking, what a purchase actually costs, and how a democracy is quietly lost. Populism, consumerism, and media manipulation aren't abstractions to us — they're the units of our workshops.

We work mainly through Erasmus+ youth exchanges, sending and hosting small Bulgarian delegations across Europe for weeks of discussion-based, non-formal learning alongside partner organisations. Between exchanges, we run local workshops and publish what we learn, in Bulgarian and beyond.

PROGRAMMES
SAB-01
01

Youth Exchanges

Erasmus+ funded exchanges, one to two weeks, hosted with partner NGOs across Europe. Bulgarian participants join in full — no cost to them, EU co-funded travel and stay.

SAB-02

Non-Formal Workshops

Discussion-led sessions in Sofia on populism, consumer culture, and media literacy — built for teenagers and young adults, not lecture halls.

SAB-03

Publications & Toolkits

What each exchange produces gets written up and shared back — toolkits, zines, and short reports other youth workers can reuse.
